But I will singof your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength; I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.
This a song about the trouble that is brought about by enemies. David is overwhelmed but he can still sing of God’s strength and love being his fortress. He is the God on whom we can rely.
““There is no peace like the peace of those whose minds are possessed with full assurance that they have known God, and God has known them, and that this relationship guarantees God’s favour to them in life, through death and on for ever.”

Victoria is the major concern and it is now in stage three lockdown. Of particular concern are the number of people in care homes affected.
There are 135 people in hospital (+68) with 29 in intensive care (+12). 3,476,863 tests have been carried out with 0.3% being positive. 8,272 people have recovered. There are 2,941 active cases.
3. Vaccine and Cures – There are now 140 vaccine candidates – with three in phase three trials.
4. Church – Churches in NSW are having to rethink opening now that the government has announced that numbers will now be limited to 100. Some had their first services physically for the first time last weekend. Pray for patience and clarity.
5. Personal and Family – Pray for those who are struggling with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. May they get appropriate support and know the peace and presence of the Lord in the midst of their suffering.
A Prayer of Repentance: O Lord, how complacent we become. Like your ancient people, we cry out to you, you hear us; then when things get better, we forget about you. Lord, help us to remain earnest in prayer – not so that we can earn your mercy – that is free and of grace – but that we can be reminded of our weakness and our dependence on you, in Christ’s name. Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving: Lord, we thank you that you are our refuge, our fortress. You are the God on whom we can rely. You are our strength, our joy, our love and our peace. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on you, for your glory and our good. Amen.
As a result of the increase in cases, we are increasing these prayer updates to twice a week commencing this week. The normal pattern will be at the start and end of the working week.
Please share this opportunity to join in prayer with your family and friends as together we seek God for his guidance and provision.
