Psalm 64:9-10 All people will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.10 The righteous will rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
The Psalmist has been voicing his complaint – that the wicked are conspiring and speaking against him. He is overwhelmed at the thought of his enemies. Until he turns to the greatness of God. There he looks forward to rejoicing and refuge. May this be the same for us.
“Lord, free my from myself, my own devices and policy” (Augustine).
Petition: Please join with us in praying for:
1.The World – The number of confirmed cases is 23,309,597 ( up from 21,590,578 the previous week.). There have been 806,543 deaths of people with Covid (up 32,994 compared to 44,904 the week prior).
2. Australia – now has had 24,812 23,288 (up 1,524 compared with 2,204 the previous week and 3,188 the week before that) This is positive news – with the virus slowing in case transmission. There have been 502 deaths – 106 in the past week.
|State||Total Cases||Weekly Change TW/LW||Total Deaths||Change in Deaths TW/LW|
|NSW||3,950||+ 35 (91)||52||0|
Things seem to be improving in terms of case transmissions – however the death toll in Victoria has been significant.
3. Vaccine and Cures –
As well as praying for a vaccine we should be praying for treatment and cures. There are many companies throughout the world working on treatments for Covid 19.
4. Church – Missionary work and overseas mission are obviously greatly impacted by this situation. Travel is much more difficult and when the eyes of the world are on Covid, other material and spiritual needs are likely to be forgotten. Pray that the Church would never forget our calling to go to all the world.
5. Personal and Family – Some people suffer from sleep deprivation. The Lord gives his beloved sleep. Pray that we would all know what it is to get a good nights rest!
A Prayer of Repentance: Lord God, we confess our need, greed and speed. We fill ourselves with things that cannot satisfy, we grab and grasp, and we are always in a hurry. Teach us to slow down, to be satisfied in you and to look to you to provides all our needs, in Jesus Name, Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving: Father God, we praise you that you change our hearts so that we can glory in you. We proclaim your works, and the wonders you have done. May all the people see and fear and love you. For Christ’s glory. Amen.
